THE BIOLOGY OF THE INNER EAR COURSE
SPONSORED BY THE MARINE BIOLOGICAL LABORATORY LAUNCHES A NEW WEBSITE

During the August, 2007 the Marine Biological Labs (MBL) in Woods Hole, MA sponsored a new Special Topics Course entitled the Biology of the Inner Ear: Experimental and Analytical Approaches (BIE). The two-week BIE course was designed to train a group of 15 student / scientists who were new to studies of the inner ear. The students received intensive hands on training with some of the most challenging techniques that face inner ear researchers, as well as, cutting edge lectures taught by a team of over 30 inner ear scientists.

Following the success of the inaugural offering of the Biology of the Inner Ear course, the MBL has launched a dedicated course website to facilitate dissemination of information about the course and to share experiences and laboratory protocols with the broader scientific community. The site went live in July, 2008.

To view the new website please visit: http://courses.mbl.edu/bie/index.html

For further information contact course directors, Jeffrey T. Corwin (jcorwin@virginia.edu) or Jeffrey R. Holt (jeffholt@virginia.edu) or assistant course director Jennifer Jones (jonesjenniferm@yahoo.com).
