Registrations are being accepted for The Jackson Laboratory Meeting:

The Mouse as an Instrument for Ear Research III
Sep 18, 2008 - Sep 21, 2008
To be held at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine

Limited travel scholarships are available to qualified students and postdocs. Requests for scholarship consideration should include a brief description who you are, the scope of your research, and the reason for your request. Scholarship award amounts depend on the number of qualified applications demonstrating need. First consideration will be given to persons submitting abstracts for posters or talks. The deadline for award requests is August 31st. Limited shared housing may be available; please state your request for this in your award application.

Building upon the success of the 2003 and 2005 meetings, this meeting provides a unique opportunity for established investigators and students to interact and exchange ideas regarding the use of new and developing technologies to study the ear of the mouse. One objective is to provide non-mouse researchers an introduction to the mouse through reviews, tutorials and hands-on workshops. Another objective is to provide state-of-the-art information to experienced investigators through research talks on new developments and special topics of current interest. Finally, meeting participants are provided an opportunity to communicate their research findings through podium and poster presentations.

Preliminary topic list:

  • Proteomics
  • RNAi application
  • Regeneration stem cell replacement
  • Electrophysiology acoustic emissions
  • Free radicals, from toxicity and noise
  • Eye movement Recordings in Mice
  • Mouse models of otitis media
