Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Audiology. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in the field of Audiology or hearing science, and be able to demonstrate potential in research and teaching in this area. The appointee will be required to teach both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, contribute to teaching in other core areas, and supervise graduate student research.

The successful applicant should be able to inspire and motivate students, and work within a collegial environment. The successful applicant will have expertise in amplification, hearing aids, psychoacoustics, or aural rehabilitation, and will be expected to publish regularly in high-quality journals and actively seek research funding.

TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS - HEARING RESEARCH PROGRAM

The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston is recruiting two tenure-track faculty to join and further enhance an established, collaborative, multi-disciplinary Hearing Research Program where the major focus is on basic and clinical studies of the auditory system. Well-equipped, renovated laboratories are available. Qualifications include a Ph.D. and demonstrated ability or exceptional potential to develop and sustain an independent, extramurally-funded research program. We invite applications from creative scientists who study the consequences of hearing impairment with strong credentials in auditory perception, psychoacoustics, speech recognition, hearing aids, and/or auditory physiology. One position will be appointed at Associate Professor or higher and one position will be appointed at Assistant Professor. Positions for postdoctoral fellows are also available. Charleston, SC features a beautiful, historic location on the Atlantic coast, moderate climate, and excellent quality of life.

DEAN OF THE GEORGE S. OSBORNE COLLEGE OF AUDIOLOGY

Salus University seeks applicants for the position of Dean of the George S. Osborne College of Audiology. Under the direction of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, this position serves as the Chief Academic Officer for the Doctor of Audiology Program, distance and continuing education programs, as well as the Pennsylvania Ear Institute. The Dean is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation and fiscal management of the College's programs.

The College is named after its founding Dean, Dr. George S. Osborne, a pioneer in the field of audiology whose unwavering focus and dedication to the advancement of the profession of audiology led to establishment of the College of Audiology. The Dean is expected to build on Dr. Osborne's vision and legacy and continue the College's tradition of curricular innovation and leadership in progressive audiology education. As part of the College's new university academic leadership team, the Dean participates in institution wide strategic planning, assessment, resource development and research advancement.

The Dean of the College of Audiology is also responsible for faculty development and the evaluation of recommendations for faculty promotions and tenure. The Dean is a member of the Academic Program Council, which includes Deans and Program Directors for programs in optometry, education and rehabilitation, and physician assistant studies. In this regard, the Dean of the College of Audiology is responsible for promoting interdisciplinary academic programs and student experiences.

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Audiology, an Au.D, or a doctorate in a related area. The candidate will possess successful and substantial leadership experience. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant academic administrative experience and a broad understanding of Audiology and its present and future role within a complex and dynamic health care system.

FACULTY POSITION: ASSISTANT / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

The Nova Southeastern University Audiology Department announces the availability of an audiology faculty position for Assistant/Associate Professor for its Au.D. degree program. The applicant must hold a doctoral degree and be eligible for audiology licensure in Florida. Clinical emphasis in pediatrics and auditory processing is preferred. Applicants responsibilities include teaching, clinical supervision, and research. Rank and salary commensurate with experience.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, AUDIOLOGY

The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Faculty of Health Sciences at The University of Western Ontario invites applications for a probationary (tenure-track) position, at the rank of Assistant Professor, in Audiology. The successful candidate will be a member of the National Centre for Audiology (NCA). The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and sustaining a dynamic program of research, teaching at the graduate and senior undergraduate levels, participating in the activities of the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the NCA and providing service in support of relevant university and community activities. The successful candidate will be expected to be an active participant in one or more graduate research education and training programs.

Candidates must hold a PhD degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Audiology, Auditory Neuroscience, or a related relevant field; post-doctoral research experience will be an asset. Candidates must provide evidence of ability to develop and to sustain an independent program of externally funded research. Preference will be given to individuals with demonstrated clinical experience and expertise in cochlear implant, vestibular processes, or tinnitus.

The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers graduate-level studies in the professions of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, leading to a Master of Clinical Science (MClSc) degree. Faculty in the School also participate in a multidisciplinary Masters (MSc) and doctoral program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences including the field of Hearing Science. The Faculty of Health Science is the home of the NCA, a major research facility that supports a range of research programs in Audiology and Hearing Sciences. Faculty in the NCA work collaboratively with researchers and clinicians from several Faculties and Programs outside of the Faculty of Health Science including those in the Department of Otolaryngology in the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders maintains the research-oriented, in-house H.A. Leeper Speech and Hearing Clinic that provides for the assessment and treatment of hearing, speech and language disorders in children and adults.

CO-DIRECTOR: SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA AUDITORY PERCEPTION LAB

VA Northern California Clinic

The Auditory Perception Research Laboratory at the VA Northern California Clinic is searching for a co-director to oversee ongoing research programs developing improved tests of peripheral and central auditory processing and training procedures for hearing rehabilitation following aging, hearing loss, and traumatic brain injury. This is a full-time research position at the equivalent of Assistant or Associate Professor Level with up to three years of salary and research support deriving from existing research grants. The applicant is expected to develop successful independent research programs during the 3-yr period.

The applicant will join a productive team of investigators who study auditory neuroscience and hearing rehabilitation (see www.ebire.org/hcnlab for additional information). Post-doctoral training, evidence of research productivity, and prior grant funding are highly desirable. Resources include sound booths and testing rooms for physiological, psychophysical and behavioral experiments, DPOAE and ABR recording systems, a B&K HATS system, and auditory stimulation systems for fMRI experimentation. Other hardware includes a Philips Eclipse 1.5T MRI scanner (to be upgraded to 3T in 2009), Bio-semi EEG and ERP recording systems, a Magstim TMS stimulator, and an SR eye tracking systems. Opportunities exist for UC faculty appointments and collaborations with scientists at UC Davis and UC Berkeley. US citizenship is preferred. Salary: $70,000-$100,000 depending on experience.
