SUMMARY:20th Rhythm Perception and Production Workshop (RPPW 20)
DESCRIPTION:The 20th Rhythm Perception and Production Workshop (RPPW 20) will take place at the Department of Music\, Art and Culture Studies of the University of Jyväskylä\, Finland from the 16th to the 19th of June 2025. RPPW is an international biannual event that brings researchers from a range of disciplines together to engage in discussions about the scientific study of rhythm. Rhythm is at the core of a wide range of human tasks\, from speaking and dancing\, to walking and synchronising with others. The workshop itself will host spoken presentations and posters. \nPotential topics include (but are not limited to): \n\n      Rhythm & Synchronisation\n      Developmental Rhythm\n      Social & Interpersonal Rhythm\n      Cross-species Rhythm\n      Neural Investigations of Rhythm\n      Groove\n      Multimodal/Multisensory Rhythm\n      (Computational) Models of Rhythm Perception and/or Production\n      Speech Rhythm\n      Rhythm in Clinical Populations\n\nSubmissions for spoken and poster presentations are now open! We welcome contributions from researchers at any career stage. Submissions relating to either completed research or work-in-progress are encouraged. You can find more information and a link to the submission portal here: https://www.rppw.org/rppw20.html \nThe submission portal will be open until 23:59 (GMT+2) on the 31st of January\, 2025. \nQuestions / comments? SUMMARY:CogHear Workshop at the University of Maryland\, College Park
DESCRIPTION:Registration is now open for the next edition of the CogHear Workshop\, the week of June 16–20\, 2025\, at the University of Maryland\, College Park\, with generous support from NIDCD. \nWorkshop Website: https://sites.google.com/view/coghear2020/in-person-coghear/coghear-2025 \nRegistration Website: https://app.certain.com/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=0x3447342abcd \nThe workshop is structured around roundtable discussions and this year’s theme will reflect on the current landscape and the future of auditory cognitive decoding\, with a focus on translational and clinical applications. \nEach day will focus on a specific theme: \n\n\nTechnology: Exploring new frontiers beyond full-cap EEG/MEG—single-channel\, in-ear\, fNIRS\, intracranial\, etc. \n\n\nAI & LLMs: Use deep learning and reasoning models for decoding\, inference\, and personalization. \n\n\nClinical Focus: Objective measures (intelligibility\, engagement\, and effort)\, and translating findings to clinical populations. \n\n\nBCI: Where are we now? Evaluating decoding technologies as closed-loop systems. \n\n\nPlease join a few dozen of your favorite friends interested in neural decoding and auditory cognition.  Final schedule will be shared soon here.
