SUMMARY:Call for Abstracts: 24th Annual Auditory Perception\, Cognition\, and Action Meeting (APCAM 2025)
DESCRIPTION:** Call for Abstracts ** \n-- Opens: July 15\, 2025 -- Closes: September 14\, 2025 -- \nThe 24th annual Auditory Perception\, Cognition\, and Action Meeting (APCAM) will occur on Thursday\, November 20\, 2025. We would like to invite you to contribute your work on any aspect of auditory science to APCAM 2025\, which will occur in Denver\, Colorado (USA) at the same venue as and immediately before the Annual Meeting of the Psychonomic Society. \nThe goal of APCAM is to bring together researchers from different perspectives to present focused research on auditory cognition\, perception\, and aurally guided action. To support this\, APCAM’s Organizing Committee welcomes submissions on a wide variety of empirical\, theoretical\, and methodological topics in auditory science\, including but not limited to: \n- Auditory memory and imagery\n- Auditory scene analysis; object\, event\, and pattern perception\n- Aurally guided action and navigation\n- Comparative auditory processing\n- Cross-modal correspondences and multisensory integration\n- Healthy vs. disordered hearing and hearing loss\n- Language learning\, processing\, and development\n- Sound localization\, source identification\, and motion perception\n- Music perception\, cognition\, and performance\n- Pitch\, loudness\, and timbre perception\n- Speech perception and production\n- Temporal processing\, timing\, and attention \nSubmissions should include an abstract of 300 words or less\, the title of the presentation\, names and affiliations for all contributing authors as they should appear in the conference program\, e-mail contact information for the primary/submitting author\, and whether a spoken or poster presentation is preferred. The organizing committee will try to accommodate presentation preferences\, though it may not be possible to honor all preferences. If there are more accepted abstracts with a spoken presentation preference than available presentation slots\, preference will be given to presentations judged to represent the strongest contributions\, as well as to authors who did not deliver a spoken presentation at APCAM 2025. \nYou may submit only one presentation as first/presenting author\, but you can co-author as many presentations as you wish. Please note that submission of the same talk or the same poster to APCAM 2025 and to the Annual Meeting of the Psychonomic Society is not permitted. \nAbstract submission opens July 15\, 2025. All abstracts should be submitted online by following the “Submit an Abstract” link on the APCAM tab of the Auditory Perception and Cognition Society (APCS) website (https://apcsociety.org/apcam-submit.html). The deadline for abstract submission is September 14\, 2025. Authors will be notified about the status of their submission within approximately 3 weeks after the submission deadline. \nTo support the mission of APCAM\, APCS\, and the affiliate journal Auditory Perception & Cognition (AP&C)\, there is a registration fee for 40 USD for PhD professionals and 30 USD for graduate students (the registration fee is waived for undergraduate students). In addition to providing access to APCAM materials\, the registration fee includes a one-year membership to APCS\, an individual subscription to AP&C\, and reduced open-access publication fees for AP&C. For more details about APCS membership\, see https://apcsociety.org/membership.html. \nPresenters at APCAM 2025 can submit a brief report based on their presentation for consideration for publication in a special issue of AP&C. Such reports are not to be confused with traditional conference proceedings (i.e.\, they are longer [10-15 APA-formatted pages for the main text] and are peer-reviewed)\, but like traditional conference proceedings\, would not preclude submission of an expanded paper to AP&C or another journal at a later time. For more information on AP&C or the special issue\, contact Michael Hall (hallmd@jmu.edu) or Mike Russell (mirussell@bellevue.edu).

SUMMARY:18th International Conference on Music Perception and Cognition | ICMPC 18 - São Paulo\,
DESCRIPTION:Call for papers | ICMPC 18 \n'Echos and ecologies: New Landscapes for Music Perception and Cognition' \n21-25 July 2025  | São Paulo | Hybrid \nWe are pleased to invite submissions for the 18th International Conference on Music Perception and Cognition jointly organized with the 17th International Conference of the Brazilian Association of Cognition and Musical Arts to be held 21-25 July 2025\, in São Paulo.  \nThe conference invites papers focused on the systematic exploration of musical behavior and cognition. Under the theme "Echoes and Ecologies: New Landscapes for Music Perception and Cognition\," the event seeks to examine the intricate interactions between auditory experiences and the varied environments in which they occur. It promotes interdisciplinary research\, encouraging participants to investigate how progress in psychology\, neuroscience\, artificial intelligence\, and related fields is reshaping our comprehension of music perception and cognition within an evolving technological and transcultural context. While this theme serves as a guiding concept\, submissions are not required to adhere strictly to it. Researchers in all areas of music cognition are encouraged to pursue their interests within this broad and dynamic field. \nThe ICMPC 18 will be held in a hybrid format (participation will be possible either in-person or through virtual attendance)\, with most activities live-streamed and accessible remotely. \nImportant dates:  \n31 January 2025 | Deadline for abstract submissions – now extended \nMarch 2025 | Review outcomes \n15 April 2025 | Early bird registration deadline \n20 April 2025 | Deadline for submitting revised abstracts for the Proceedings and for authors of approved papers to complete their registration \n18 July 2025 | Regular registration deadline \n21-25 July 2025 | ICMPC18 \nFor details of the conference organization and the guidelines for submissions\, please visit the website: https://www.icmpc2025.abcogmus.com
