Campus Specific Information: The Ph.D. Program in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Level Professor specializing in the fields of Auditory Neuroscience (human studies) and/or Language Neuroscience (i.e., adult language disorders). The position will begin in Fall 2023.
Since its inception in 1965, the Ph.D. Program in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences has trained scholars and researchers to address major issues of human communication and its disorders using rigorous research methods. The Program features faculty whose primary appointment is at the Graduate Center and faculty whose primary appointments are at other colleges within the City University of New York (CUNY) system. This appointment is at the Graduate Center. In addition to laboratories located at The Graduate Center, our faculty and students also have access to CUNY’s Advanced Science Research Center where MRI facilities are located. These arrangements provide our faculty and students with exposure to diverse research fields and approaches and offer our students a multifaceted research-based doctoral education where they will gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to continue learning and growing throughout their professional lives.
The Assistant or Associate Professor for the Ph.D. Program in Speech-Language-Hearings Sciences will be a key contributor to fostering our high standard of doctoral education. The Assistant or Associate Professor will regularly teach, train, and mentor graduate-level doctoral and/or masters students while maintaining a record of research scholarship that includes extramural funding. The appointee will contribute to program activities including serving on committees, organizing colloquia, etc.
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.
Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and work in the office. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to their campus (or office).
Qualifications:

Compensation: $86,645-$117,805. The maximum salary for an Assistant Professor is $99,532 and the maximum salary for an Associate Professor is $117,805. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Important Notice: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after October 1, 2022, City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after October 1, 2022, will only be eligible to enroll in the Emblem Health HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment. After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period.
