Chair of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery – Vanderbilt
The Vanderbilt / VUMC Department of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery (OHNS) seeks an extraordinary leader as successor to the role of (endowed) Chairperson of the department. The current nationally respected Chair, Ron Eavey, MD, is electively stepping down from his leadership role after a successful tenure of 12 years at Vanderbilt.

The Chair of Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery reports to the President and CEO, VUMC and Dean, VU School of Medicine.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA: Certification (and ideally subspecialty certification) by the American Board of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery (ABOHNS) or equivalent is a pre-requisite with:
- A distinguished academic career including a leadership role within a multifaceted academic pathology department.
- A strong commitment to continued diversification of the faculty and trainees of the department, especially regarding recruitment and retention of women and underrepresented minorities.
- A highly regarded basic, translational, and/or clinical research background, with track record of scholarly achievements, extramural funding and impactful peer-reviewed publications.
- Clinical achievement, scholarly accomplishments, leadership aptitude and experience commensurate with appointment to the faculty at the rank of Professor.
