Postdoctoral Positions in vestibular/sensory neurobiology
We enthusiastically post the availability of two postdoctoral scholar positions dedicated to investigating the cellular and electrophysiologic bases of dynamic sensory coding and hypofunction by vestibular epithelia in the laboratory of Larry Hoffman, Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. This work is highly translational and harbors many opportunities for developing new strategies for peripheral sensory neurorehabilitation.
Postdoctoral Scholar position in systems electrophysiology. The principal responsibilities associated with this position include single-neuron electrophysiology, vestibulo-ocular reflex recording, and computational analyses of sensory spiketrains in a rodent model of peripheral vestibular hypofunction. Relevant experience should include one or more of the following: systems neurophysiology, computational neuroscience, and/or neurosensory behavioral recording and analysis.
Postdoctoral Scholar position in cellular neuroscience. The principal responsibilities associated with this position include immunohistochemical analyses, tract-tracing, and high resolution quantitative imaging. The opportunities exist to learn super-resolution confocal imaging, as well as electron microscopy. Relevant experience should include one or more of the following: sensory systems neuroscience, confocal imaging, and/or neurosensory behavioral recording and analyses.
These positions are available for start dates commencing on/after 1 April 2021. Salary is commensurate with experience, but conform to the appropriate NIH salary scale for postdoctoral scholars. UCLA adheres to collective bargaining agreements for postdoctoral scholars.
