Full Time Faculty Opportunity – University of Rochester Medical Center
Open Rank Tenure-Track Clinician-Scientist Audiologist
The Department of Otolaryngology in the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry is seeking to fill an open tenure-track faculty position at any rank for a PhD Audiologist/Clinician Scientist. The Department of Otolaryngology along with researchers from the Departments of Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Brain and Cognitive Sciences, and Psychology have a long history of funded research projects relating to hearing and balance. The faculty member would seek extramural funding for their own independent research program and join the highly collaborative group of hearing and balance researchers at the University of Rochester.
This position is open to all areas of hearing research both in human subjects and animal models. The candidate will split time between research and patient care, with effort divided between our full-service academic audiology service and research depending on level of extramural funding and need for research time. The specific allocation between clinic and research time is flexible and the candidate would be encouraged to seek extramural funding according to their specific goals. The candidate could be additionally supported through funded research collaborations with other faculty. An important aspect of this position is to leverage their background in audiology for hearing assessment and interacting with human subjects to provide clinical insights and perspective to collaborators.
- PhD in Audiology or other related disciplines required.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, including written communication required.
- ASHA certification and eligibility for NYS audiology and hearing aid dispensing licensure required.
This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, an excellent benefits package including retirement, tuition benefits, generous vacation leave, and support for continuing education.
