Post-Doctoral Position – Iowa Carver College of Medicine-Synaptic Control of Auditory information processing

The Young laboratory is focused on building the framework of molecular principles for accurate sound information encoding and how they contribute to auditory deficits. To do so, the laboratory uses multiple approaches: viral vector technology, patch clamp electrophysiology, biophysics, and fluorescent and electron microscopy approaches. Dr. Young is committed to personally training candidates that wish to learn patch clamp electrophysiology.
Candidates must have a PhD in a related scientific discipline and a first author publication or preprint in bioRxiv. We are looking for candidates with background in one of these areas: proteomics, electrophysiology, microscopy, ion channels, advanced molecular biology, stem cells, virology, hearing sciences or auditory behavior tasks. The Young laboratory is affiliated with the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa and located within the Pappajohn BioMedical Discovery Building.
