POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IS AVAILABLE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT
Qualified individuals are invited to apply for a full-time postdoctoral position under the supervision of Drs. Erika Skoe and Emily Myers in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Connecticut. The postdoc will work as part of a collaborative team on an NSF-funded project examining the neural basis of categorical perception of speech. The project will combine EEG-based and MRI-based methods to study individual differences at multiple levels of the neural processing stream in a diverse population of young adults. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of the project including data collection, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation. The position has a flexible start date.
The initial appointment is one year and renewable for up to three years total, with preference given to those who can commit to at least two years in the position.
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in communication sciences and disorders, psychology, neuroscience, or related fields; expertise in MRI and/or EEG data collecting and processing; strong evidence of research in speech, language, or hearing sciences; excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred qualifications: Programming experience in R or MatLAB, multivariate imaging analysis techniques, strong computational skills, experience with clinical audiological methods.
