Postdoctoral Position in Neurophysiology and 2-photon Imaging
An NIH-funded postdoctoral research position is available in the Golding lab at the Department of Neuroscience at UT-Austin to study the mechanisms of ultrafast temporal coding and dendritic processing in single neurons in the auditory system. Approaches include 2-photon imaging and dendritic recordings in brain slices, transgenic mouse lines, and novel opto- and chemogenetic tools. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. and background in electrophysiology, 2-photon or calcium imaging approaches. Quantitative abilities and computer programming/modeling skills are desired. Our group is committed to diversity, equity and inclusivity and we strongly encourage applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds and under-represented groups.
The successful candidate will join a rich, interdisciplinary Neuroscience community at UT-Austin consisting of ~100 laboratories and participate in the Center for Learning and Memory and Center for Perceptual Systems. Applicants should apply by e-mail (golding@austin.utexas.edu), including a cover letter detailing relevant experience and research interests, curriculum vitae, and a list of three references. Review of applications will begin immediately.
