Postdoctoral Positions in the Kindt lab to study sensory hair cell systems
Our group utilizes the zebrafish system to study hair cells, the sensory receptors for hearing and balance. Specifically, we use this in vivo model to understand the functional and developmental processes that are critical for hair-cell function. Overall, our scientific questions are broadly relevant to the field of Neurobiology. For our studies we use live imaging to optically measure function and visualize development. We complement this work by using CRISPR technology to apply genetics to our imaging toolbox. Our laboratory is home to Swept-field, Point-scan, Airyscan, and Light-sheet microscopes. In addition, on the NIH campus we have access to numerous additional microscopes and technological cores.
The position is at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Our laboratory is located in the multi-disciplinary Neuroscience Research Center just outside of Washington D.C. on the main NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. This postdoctoral research position is fully funded for up to five years.
