Postdoctoral Positions in Yale University
Postdoctoral positions are immediately available in Dr. Hong-Bo Zhao’s lab at the Department of Surgery – Otolaryngology, Yale University Medical School to study:
- Gene therapy for Cx26 (GJB2) mutation induced hearing loss, which is No 1 deafness for gene mutations induced hearing loss and responsible for >50% of nonsyndromic hearing loss in clinic. Our lab is one of leading lab in the world in study of inner ear gap junctional functions and deafness mechanisms of GJB2 deficiency induced hearing loss.
- Treatment and mechanism of cochlear synaptopathy for noise-induced hearing loss.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Hearing Sciences, or other related fields. Applicants from other non-hearing neuroscience fields also welcome. Applicants should be motivated and productive. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the studies and techniques mentioned above, in particular, in gene therapy, molecular biology, gene sequencing, and working knowledge of the auditory system. Initial appointment will be for 1-2 years with possible extension based on performance. Yale University follows NIH post-doctoral salary standard (~$55,000/year for the 1st year).
