Who We Are
The Pittsburgh Hearing Research Center, PHRC, at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, consists of a dedicated group of scientists, physicians and staff working on basic and clinical aspects of hearing and sound perception, in both health and disease. PHRC’s goal is to perform basic science and translational research to develop solutions, cures, and products to treat and prevent hearing loss and hearing loss-related disorders.
Our group will be focusing on the translational research specifically drug delivery to the inner.
What We Want
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct researched approved by Principal Investigator (PI) as well as independent research in inner ear cell biology and drug delivery. Required Education and Experience
- Appropriate PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities
- Research: Performing research related to the gene therapy-related substances delivery via extracellular vesicles and other methods to the inner ear, as well as conducting independent research involving hearing loss prevention/treatment. Working with pigs and small animals is required.
- Mentorship: Performs project management and mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students.
- Publication: Publishes results in peer-reviewed journals and through conference participation.
