A postdoctoral training opportunity is available in the Trussell Lab at OHSU’s Oregon Hearing Research Center and the Vollum Institute.  Our research goals include dissecting neural circuity of the auditory brainstem and mid-brain, the identification of novel neuronal cell types, and the biophysical mechanisms of synaptic transmission in the auditory and vestibular system.  Methods include electrophysiology, 2-photon imaging, super resolution microscopy, and single cell-RNAseq.   Candidates should have a PhD in a related area of science, at least one first-author publication, and experience in patch-clamp electrophysiology.

The laboratory is part of the Oregon Hearing Research Center, a research wing of the Dept. of Otolaryngology.  The Center fosters close interactions across the hearing disciplines, from clinical studies to basic research in inner ear, brainstem, midbrain and cortex.  In addition, the lab is part of the Vollum Institute, a renowned center for the study of cellular and molecular neuroscience.

Applications for the position should include a cover letter describing research achievements and career goals, along with a curriculum vitae. Please include contact information for at least three professional references.  Send to Dr. Laurence O. Trussell at trussell@ohsu.edu
