Symposia and Young Investigator Symposia- General Information
Speaker View to see your notes: If you want to see your presenter notes, please stop by the Speaker Ready Room onsite at the meeting. The AV staff located in that room will be able to assist you. Please stop by prior to your speaking time.

Instructions and links will be emailed to each speaker to upload either the PowerPoint/Keynote slides for presentation. ARO will collect all slides 1 week prior to the meeting so the captioning partner has a chance to review slides prior to the meeting.

All final slides can be uploaded in the Speaker Ready Room during the in-person meeting, however all final slides must be uploaded no less than 1 day prior to your scheduled presentation date.

Symposia and Young Investigator Symposia are organized as a series of oral presentations on a theme.

  • All Symposia have a maximum duration of 2 hours.
  • Presenters assigned the 15-minute timeslot will speak for 12-minutes allowing 3-minutes for Q&A.
  • Presenters assigned the 30-minute timeslot will speak for 25-minutes allowing 5-minutes for Q&A. 
  • A minimum of 4 and up to a maximum of 7 presenters per symposia session.
  • Individual presentations are either 15 or *30 minutes. *Symposia must include at least one (1), 30-minute presentation.

    All presenters will create a PowerPoint/Keynote slide presentation for your in-person presentation. When creating your slides please use slide size; Widescreen (16:9). Speakers will not use their own computer to present.

    Workshops are instructional in nature and include hands-on work or may simply be an overview of techniques or approaches. 

    • Workshops are 1 hour in length. 
    • A minimum of 4 and up a maximum of 8 presenters per workshop session.
