Postdoctoral Fellow- The Chan Lab at UCSF

The Chan lab at UCSF is seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellow.  Our translational research group strives to better understand and improve hearing, from basic physiologic mechanisms to disparities in hearing healthcare. This position would focus on studying how calcium dynamics and the Unfolded Protein Response modulate acquired and genetic hearing loss in mouse models.  In particular, we are seeking to develop our work using live calcium and synaptic imaging and in vitro damage models of the cochlea to observe and understand early and modifiable events of cochlear injury and repair.

Our diverse and collaborative group of scientists and clinicians provides a wide range of perspectives, connecting basic science work to translational and clinical studies with a shared goal of understanding how to improve hearing health care.

Candidates should have a PhD and/or an MD with basic-science experience.  Prior experience with live imaging techniques is desirable but not essential.  Applications from women and representatives of underrepresented minority groups are encouraged.  For more information, see our website (https://dylanchanlab.ucsf.edu//home ).

If you are interested, please send your CV and statement of interest to Dylan Chan at Dylan.chan@ucsf.edu.
